Edit Menu


Undo

Choosing Edit:Undo allows you to undo the most recent action taken. Note that not all actions can be undone.

Shortcut: Command-Z

Cut

Choosing Edit:Cut deletes the selected item from the active window and puts it in the Clipboard. Cut is available within the Read Me Text and Startup Screen dialogs. Cut is also available in entry fields in other windows.

Shortcut: Command-X

Copy

Choosing Edit:Copy saves the selected item from the active window to the Clipboard without deleting it. Copy is available within the Read Me Text and Startup Screen dialogs. Copy is also available in entry fields in other windows.

Shortcut: Command-C

Paste

Choosing Edit:Paste inserts the contents of the Clipboard into the active window. If text is on the clipboard it can be pasted into the Read Me Text field or any other entry field. If picture data (data of type PICT) is on the Clipboard, it can be pasted into the Startup Screen dialog.

Shortcut: Command-V

Clear

Choosing Edit:Clear deletes the current selection from the active window without replacing the contents of the Clipboard. In the Read Me Text field and other entry fields, the selected text is deleted. In the Startup Screen dialog, the picture is cleared.

Select All

Choosing Edit:Select All selects all items in the script window if the item view is targeted. This command does not apply to the installations view, since only one installation can be selected at a time. In the Read Me Text dialog or in other entry fields, Edit:Select All selects the entire text.

Shortcut: Command-A

Select Folder

Choosing Edit:Select Folder selects an entire folder and its contents based on the item currently selected in the script window. If the current selection is a folder, this command selects that folder and its enclosed items. If the current selection is an item of any other type, then its parent folder and its contents are selected. You can use the Select Folder option to quickly create an installation containing all items in a folder. First choose Edit:Select Folder to select the folder, then just choose Item:Make into One Installation. Shortcut: Command-F

Select None

Choosing Edit:Select None deselects all items in the script window if the item view is targeted. This command does not apply to the installations view, since an installation must be selected at all times.

Shortcut: Command-`

Move Up

Choosing Edit:Move Up moves the selected item or installation up one place. If the selected item is a folder, the folder and its contents are moved up. If an item cannot be moved up any further, a beep is sounded. If more than one item is selected in the item view of the script window, only the first item is moved up. The others remain selected but are not moved. The same applies to moving items down, left, and right. Shortcut: Command-U
Shortcut: Command-Up-Arrow

Move Down

Choosing Edit:Move Down moves the selected item or installation down one place. If the selected item is a folder, the folder and its contents are moved down. If an item cannot be moved down any further, a beep is sounded.

Move Left

Choosing Edit:Move Left moves the selected item to the left. If the selected item is a folder, the folder and its contents are moved left. If an item is already at the far left, a beep is sounded.

Shortcut: Command-L
Shortcut: Command-Left-Arrow

Move Right

Choosing Edit:Move Right moves the selected item to the right. If the selected item is a folder, the folder and its contents are moved right. If an item is already at the far right, a beep is sounded.

Shortcut: Command-R
